October 9, 2006

Dear Colleague in Ministry:

As you may know, we have circulated a position opening announcement for a staff officer for Children's Ministries and Christian Education for the Episcopal Church. Please take the time to read the attached description and share it with all whom you think would be good candidates.
In fact, this may be a position you will want to consider for yourself.

You will notice that the closing date is October 16, 2006. In this period, we are asking only for a brief cover letter, résumé, and salary requirements. We are eager to have this important position filled as soon in the next triennium as possible-please pray for the members of the search team and our staff as we move into this next stage of discernment for leadership among us.

Please note that there has been a recent policy change regarding time required of a staff officer in our New York office, specifically that there is no restriction on where the incumbent resides, but rather that there are days on which the staff officer will need to be in New York when not traveling to various parts of the Episcopal Church. Any commutation to New York would be a personal responsibility.

This promises to be an interesting and productive time for new leadership in Christian education and formation, with many opportunities for collaboration in this new triennium. I am grateful for the important ministry that you engage in your part of God's world. Thank you in advance for all that you are able to do to get this good word out.

Faithfully yours,

Thomas K. Chu
